Katherine Mahler is best known for her textile sculptures that reference language, time and place. Her work often includes references to nautical terms and the language of knots combined with mark making to create forms that encapsulate complex relationships. Katherine’s work in ceramics and printmaking captures the process of time using layers and portals to create glimpses of light and space. Katherine lives and works in North Carolina. She is Assistant Professor of Art at High Point University where she teaches Ceramics, 3-D Design, Painting and Printmaking.
